What Todoist does better
- Almost everything, measured by capability. Todoist is a mature, well-built product with a decade of work in it.
- Projects, sub-projects, labels, filters and priorities, for people whose work genuinely has that structure.
- Natural-language input — typing 'submit invoice every 1st' just works.
- Recurring tasks and reminders, which Drag Task does not have in any form.
- Native apps on every platform, offline use, and integrations with hundreds of other tools.
- Collaboration: shared projects, assigning tasks, comments and activity history.
What Drag Task does better
- A calendar you do not have to pay for. Todoist's calendar layout is a Pro feature; here it is the whole app.
- No free-plan ceiling to hit — no project cap, no filter cap, no task cap.
- Nothing to set up. There is no right way to organise it, because there is no structure to organise.
- Rescheduling is one drag onto another day, rather than editing a due-date field.
The honest verdict
If you are shopping for a Todoist replacement because you want the same power for less money, Drag Task is not it — look at TickTick instead. If you are leaving because Todoist turned out to be more system than you needed, and what you actually wanted was to see what you owe on Thursday, then this is a fair trade: far less capability, no paywall, and nothing to maintain.
