Terms of Use & Privacy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
Drag Task is a free tool made and run by one person as a personal project. It is offered to you at no charge and with no promises. These terms explain the deal: you get to use it for free, and in exchange you accept that it comes exactly as it is, with no warranty, no support obligation, and no liability on the part of the person who made it. Please read them — by using Drag Task you agree to all of it.
1. Agreement to these terms
"Drag Task", "the Service", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the Drag Task web application at drag-task.web.app and the individual who created and operates it (the "Operator"). "You" means you, the person using it.
By accessing, signing in to, or otherwise using the Service — including the sign-in-free demo — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and the Privacy section below. If you do not agree with any part of them, do not use the Service. That is the entirety of your remedy: stop using it.
2. Your licence to use Drag Task
Subject to these terms, the Operator grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to use the Service free of charge for your own personal or internal business task management.
The Service is free. There is no fee, no subscription, no trial that converts, and no payment is ever collected. Because you pay nothing, you acquire no ownership interest in the Service and no contractual entitlement to its continued existence, availability, features, or performance.
The Operator retains all right, title and interest in the Service, its software, design, name and branding. Nothing here transfers any intellectual property to you. You may not resell, rent, sublicense or commercially redistribute access to the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age at which a person may consent to online services where you live, if that age is higher) to use the Service. By using it you represent that you meet that requirement and that you have the legal capacity to accept these terms.
4. Your account
Signing in uses your existing Google account through Google's authentication. The Operator never sees, receives or stores your Google password. You are responsible for the security of your Google account and for everything done through it on the Service. If you believe your account has been compromised, secure it with Google — the Operator cannot do so for you.
5. Your content
The task text you enter is yours. You keep whatever ownership rights you have in it. You grant the Operator only the limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence needed to store, transmit, back up and display that content for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you. No other use is made of it: your task content is not read for advertising, not sold, and not used to train anything.
You are solely responsible for your content and for having the right to store it. Do not put anything into Drag Task that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you cannot afford to lose.
Drag Task is not a backup service and offers no data-durability guarantee. Data can be lost through bugs, outages, provider failure, accidental deletion, or discontinuation of the Service. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, or malicious content;
- attempt to access another user's data, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or its infrastructure;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by automated querying, scraping at volume, denial-of-service, or circumventing rate or storage limits;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code beyond what applicable law expressly permits;
- resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product from non-public information about it;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
The Operator may suspend or terminate your access, or remove content, at any time and without notice, for any reason or no reason — including a good-faith belief that this section has been breached.
7. Availability, changes and discontinuation
The Service is provided on a best-effort, hobby basis. There is no uptime commitment, no service level agreement, no maintenance window, and no support obligation of any kind. Nothing obliges the Operator to respond to any message, bug report, or feature request.
The Operator may change, suspend, limit, or permanently discontinue the Service or any part of it, and may delete stored data, at any time, without notice and without liability to you. The Service could be shut down tomorrow. Use it on that understanding.
8. Third-party services
Drag Task runs on third-party infrastructure — currently Google Firebase (authentication, Cloud Firestore, and hosting) and Google Analytics. Your use of the Service therefore also involves those providers, under their own terms and privacy policies. The Operator does not control them and is not responsible for their acts, omissions, outages, pricing changes, data handling, or discontinuation.
9. Feedback
If you send feedback, ideas, bug reports, votes or suggestions through the in-app feedback box or any other channel, you grant the Operator a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, modify and act on it for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, without compensation, credit, confidentiality obligation, or any duty to reply or to implement it. Do not send anything you consider confidential or that you expect to be paid for.
10. Privacy
The short version: Drag Task collects the minimum it needs to show you your own tasks, it does not sell anything to anyone, and there are no advertising or third-party tracking pixels beyond basic Google Analytics.
What is collected
- Account basics. When you sign in with Google: your user ID, name, email address and profile picture URL, as provided by Google. Your password is never seen or stored.
- Your tasks. The text, date, order and done/not-done state of each task you create, stored against your user ID.
- Feedback you submit. Any thumbs-up/thumbs-down vote and message you send through the feedback box, along with your name and email so a reply is possible (no reply is promised — see section 7).
- Usage analytics. Standard Google Analytics measurement — approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed. Firebase also records ordinary technical logs such as IP addresses.
How it is used
Only to operate, secure, debug and improve the Service. Your data is not sold, rented, or traded. It is not used for advertising. It is not used to train machine-learning models. It is disclosed to others only where the infrastructure providers above process it on the Operator's behalf, or where disclosure is required by law.
Where it is stored
On Google Cloud infrastructure via Firebase, which means it may be stored and processed on servers outside your country. Access to your tasks is restricted by security rules so that only your signed-in account can read and write them.
Your control
- Delete individual tasks at any time inside the app — deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Revoke Drag Task's access to your Google account at any time from your Google account's security settings.
- To request deletion of everything associated with your account, send the request through the in-app feedback box. Requests are handled on a best-effort basis.
- The demo stores nothing at all: it runs entirely in your browser's memory and disappears when you close the tab.
Cookies and similar browser storage are used only to keep you signed in and for the analytics described above.
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. THE OPERATOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, TIMELY, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DATA WILL BE PRESERVED, AND MAKES NO WARRANTY AS TO ANY RESULTS OBTAINED FROM USING IT. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, ORAL OR WRITTEN, CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED HERE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR FOR ANY LOSS, CORRUPTION OR INACCURACY OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER THEORY, AND EVEN IF THE OPERATOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, WHICH FOR A FREE SERVICE IS ZERO, AND (B) TEN US DOLLARS (USD 10.00).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is so, the exclusions and limitations above apply to the fullest extent those laws permit, and nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Operator from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, fines, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your content; (c) your breach of these terms or of any applicable law; or (d) your violation of the rights of any third party.
The Operator may, at its own expense, assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with that defence. You will not settle any such matter in a way that imposes any obligation or admission on the Operator without prior written consent.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. The Operator may terminate or suspend your access at any time, for any reason, without notice. Sections 5, 9, and 11 through 16 survive any termination.
15. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated at any time. The "last updated" date at the top will change when they do. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms. There is no obligation to notify you individually, so check back if it matters to you.
16. General
These terms are the entire agreement between you and the Operator about the Service and supersede any prior understanding. If any provision is held unenforceable, it is to be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in full force. A failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign or transfer these terms; the Operator may assign them freely. Nothing here creates any partnership, employment, agency, or fiduciary relationship between you and the Operator, and there are no third-party beneficiaries.
The Operator is not liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including provider outages, network failures, or acts of government.
17. Contact
Use the feedback box inside the app to get in touch. As set out in section 7, no reply is promised.
